Autobiography

I’ve managed to plan for the first two weeks of the new term, using the new framework.  I’ve based the autobiography unit on Roald Dahl’s Boy.  I’m going to follow this up with a unit on biography, using biographies of Dahl’s life.

The zip file below contains my planning and some of the resources.  I’ve referred to a lot of photocopiable sheets from Scholastic’s Writing Guides: Activities for Writing Life Stories (by Angel Scott, ISBN 0439019621), which is currently available from Amazon for ‘only’ £8.25.  I found it really useful, particularly as it has 4 sections (Using good examples, Developing writing, Writing & Review), which matched the structure of the new framework quite well.

I’ve also added a few relevant links to my class’ Wikispace:

I’ll also upload my biography plannning and resources soon, when I’ve finished it.

Please leave a comment if you have any feedback (positive or negative!) on this plan, or any suggestions for improvements or further activies.

  1. Followed the link from the TES site to here. Interesting to see your planning as it is similar to what I have done. I guess that means we are interpreting the new strategy in a similar way. Thanks for the link!
