I’m going to add my planning and resources for this unit as I do them.
So here’s Week 1 (Chapters 1-3):

You’ll need a copy of the book (ideally enough for the children to have copies to refer to during their work). I managed to persuade the school to buy 30 copies of the book last year:

This is my medium term planning from the last time I taught a topic on the Victorians. Its not complete, but we didn’t actually get through all the activities on there.

I’ve added another new page, where I’m going to begin collecting links to ideas for homework and also resources to help parents support their child’s learning.
I’ve also added a page where I’m going to store all the websites I use regularly to find teaching ideas and resources.
Click on the tab at the top of the [...]

I’ve managed to plan for the first two weeks of the new term, using the new framework. I’ve based the autobiography unit on Roald Dahl’s Boy. I’m going to follow this up with a unit on biography, using biographies of Dahl’s life.
The zip file below contains my planning and some of the resources. I’ve referred [...]

These planning sheets from DCS look really useful. I hate teaching PE, so if anyone has any other useful PE resources please let me know, either by leaving a comment, or using the About/Contact Me page at the top.
You can also get to the plans by clicking on the pictures below.

Here’s the planning and resources I used when I taught The Highwayman to my Year 5 class. I’ve added them as a (quite large) zip file because there are 13 files, including planning, Smart Notebook files, worksheets, the text of the poem and a short list of websites. I also used a few resources from [...]

I’ve been meaning to try this approach for a while, but not yet plucked up the courage. I’ve just found a great website though with lesson ideas and skills lists.

I will have a go over the summer at planning a series of lessons using this approach.

The old maths unit plans are still available here:
http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/primary/features/mathematics/maths_unit_plans/1092339
They’re very difficult to get to from the main Primary Strategy site now bcause of the new framework, but are still useful for planning.
This website links the new framework objectives with the unit plans:
