Online Blockbuster games

Someone on TES posted a link to a really useful website, which I thought I’d share.
http://www.teachers-direct.co.uk/resources/quiz-busters/subjects/ks2.aspx?page=2
It has Blockbuster games which use key vocabulary for maths, science, languages, etc.  You can also create your own Blockbuster games, or wordsearches which can be completed online or printed out.

SATs papers online

If you don’t have Testbase, you might find these helpful:

http://www.st-josephs-pickering.n-yorks.sch.uk/past_test_papers.htm (Maths, English and Science for 2000 to 2006 – Word files)

Old Primary Strategy links

Schools Links has some really helpful pages, including these two which contain links to all the bits of the old Primary Strategy that are now nearly impossible to find on their site (e.g. Unit plans, Spelling bank).

http://www.schoolslinks.co.uk/links_numeracy.htm
The science page is also useful, with links to QCA documents, BBC resources, etc.

Learning Connection – Primary Projects

http://www.learning-connections.co.uk/curric/cur_pri/pri_ind.html
The projects include ideas, activities, links, a list of books and places to visit.  They cover:

Ancient Egyptians
Artists
Aztecs
The Human Body
Inventors and Discoverers
The Earth and Beyond
Tudors
Victorians

Science links

A fantastic collection of links for each science unit:

Includes links to planning, ICT resources, displays, etc.

Science Vocabulary

These sites have really useful resources for science vocabulary:

http://www.halton.gov.uk/schools/science/Key%20Vocabulary.pdf
This is an area that I know my class need to develop (in fact, I’ve just written it as a target on most of their reports!), so I’ll be printing out quite a few of these next year.

Bristol Museum resources

Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery has finally got round to putting some of its learning resources online.  I worked for the museum a few years ago as a freelance museum educator, and was disappointed that they had so little available on the internet.

At the moment, this includes:

Animals from around the world
Ceramics
The Egyptians
